New design!

It's still being worked on, so don't think this isn't working correctly on your browser. It's just really shitty right now. I can't get anything to archive correctly and I pretty much destroyed all of my content, but it's shiny and new and yellow and orange and has the title of a Talking Heads song with which, as I'm sure you all know, I'm totally obsessed. No comments, either. Yet.

Having quit my job about a week earlier, lying to my employer that I'd found "something else," I discovered myself on the eve of a fifteen-day road trip that would lead me through ten states. Five of my friends, a bag of groceries, and a duffle, stuffed with socks and shirts, would join me in departure on Tuesday morning, cleaving over 2,500 miles through plains, hills and mountains.

The two-hundred dollars in my pocket were handed to me by my mother for chores as yet unfinished. Pity money. Gas money. Beer money. The single, insufficient, overdue paycheck from the dingy South Saint Paul office would pay off late fees and overdraft charges resulting from unauthorized spending on my credit card: a subscription to a magazine I never wanted.

Thinking about songs for the open road, my head began to nod. 5:00 became 5:01, digital hatchings morphing from circle to line. Time for bed. I'd catch up with this life later. Fifteen days.
