Yesterday I received a letter (well, two actually) from Macalester College saying that I'd been admitted there as a transfer student for the Fall semester of 2004. The thing is, though, that I never applied to Macalester College as a transfer student for the Fall semester of 2004. And yet, somehow... "Dear Todd: Congratulations on your admission to Macalester!" So I opened the second letter; it was, essentially, a retraction of the first, saying that they had made a mistake, and that I hadn't actually been admitted there as a transfer student for the Fall semester of 2004.

I got a speeding ticket, one week and two days ago, in Marshalltown for 60 in a 55. It being near midnight, I hadn't passed another car on the road for something like 45 minutes, and I was halfway between signs reading 55 and 65, but I was going much, much (much) faster than that for the better part of the trip, so it could have been a lot worse. And my parents are paying the $36. Because I'm spoiled. So there.
