January 19, 2003

I had a lot of fun tonight. Ben came over around three or four and we berated Look Down (in their absence) for the ridiculousness of their appearance this morning on The Breakfast Club. While it was funny, little of it served for the furtherment of them as a band, especially as a credible one; a force to be reckoned with, if you will. It actually wasn't that bad. I would later approach Jacob on the subject, to which he justified their lack of seriousness: He won't act serious about recordings he can't deem so (i.e. just about anything on their album.).

Later, I, along with Ben and Charlie, went to Cheapo, where I purchased Built To Spill's Keep It Like A Secret. The aforementioned confronting of Jacob occured at Joe's house, where we celebrated his mom's birthday. We passed the time --and the bottle-- telling stories. And we laughed. My god, did we laugh.

Finally, we rented Barbershop and continued said laughing. Although tainted with a somewhat "Friday"-esque plot, it is an altogether well-done film. Cedric the Entertainer, whom I find hilariously un-funny on television, is excellent and, alone, makes the movie worth it. See it.

Peace.
