Do I do anything interesting enough to note in a weblog? Today (yesterday) I woke up somewhere. I don't really recall where. I went home, at some point and watched TV, probably. Then I left and did something else. However, none of that matters, because around six o'clock I had the best meal of the summer (so far). These were leftovers, by the way: Chicken-fried steak. Mashed potatoes. Corn. Greens. I never want another menu that I look at to not have these delicious things on it.
It began (the day before) yesterday when John described to me the dinner he'd eaten that night. I sat there and drooled, as mine was a bowl of 'Frosted Mini-Wheats.' John explained the meal to me with such painstaking detail that I could barely handle it. I was craving some down-home cookin' and I wasn't going to eat another bland meal, be it from the midwest, China or Mexico until I got some. I wanted to savor the glory that is an authentic Texas chicken-fried steak. So I did. And it was the highlight of my day.
I also saw this guy turning left on to Summit from Snelling who appeared to be enjoying the hell out of an ice-cream sandwich. That was pretty cool, too.
Peace.
